My mom had a PET scan done last week. I guess they are just going to monitor her every month to see how things are. She has a spot in her back that they are watching, but apparently it is smaller now than when she had her last scan.

Heidi and I are going to Disneyland for her Birthday. I ordered the tickets today and have made the hotel reservations. We are super excited because we haven't been for a year. Maybe we'll have some super cute pictures to post when we come back.

Doctors Visit

So my mom went to the Doctor on Tuesday. They did mostly bloodwork and don't have the results of the tests. They don't believe that they can do a whole lot for her liver, but she is on some medication to help it. She may just have to have the fluid that builds up drained every so often. The cancer doctors want to do another PET scan in a month to make sure that it remains under control.

P.S. After much work I finally got my background to change from Christmas, aren't you proud!!

CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

It has become a tradition for us to decorate graham cracker houses for Christmas. My mom would have made gingerbread houses from scratch. I'm not quite that good. It's a lot of fun and gets pretty messy. Here are a couple of pictures.

Thanksgiving

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A SUPER THANKSGIVING. WE HAD PLANS TO GO TO MY MOM'S BUT WE ALL GOT SICK AND ENDED UP HAVING A SMALL DINNER AT OUR HOUSE. MY MOM HAD HER 10TH RADIATION TREATMENT YESTERDAY. SHE HAS A MONTH OFF AND THEN WILL SEE THE CANCER DOCTOR AND LIVER DOCTOR. SO WE ARE JUST WAITING UNTIL THEN TO SEE WHAT WILL BE NEXT.

RADIATION TREATMENTS

MY MOM HAS STARTED RADIATION TREATMENTS. SHE WILL HAVE 10 TREATMENTS AND THEN THEY WILL DO A SCAN TO SEE IF THE TUMOR IS SHRINKING. SHE HAD A SCAN DONE ON MONDAY THAT DOESN'T SHOW ANY HOT SPOTS FOR THE LYMPHOMA. SHE WILL STILL NEED TO SEE A LIVER DOCTOR TO SEE HOW SEVERE THE DAMAGE IS TO HER LIVER. IT LOOKS LIKE JANUARY BEFORE SHE CAN GET IN.

UPDATE

So, it looks like more chemo is out of the question for my mom. They are recommending Radiation. She would have to have a treatment 5 days a week for 6 weeks. I don't know when this would start or if they have decided for sure it is the way to go. She can't get in to see the liver doctor until January, so it will be a while before we find out what is going on there. Hope everyone is doing well.
